Pardeep Singh Kaleka & Arno Michaelis  Healing in the Aftermath of Hate
handshakeIn the aftermath of the Oak Creek shooting, Pardeep reached out to Arno for answers. What would follow this meeting was a journey of two men who breached a great divide to find brotherhood and love. In a world that seems to be tearing itself at the the seams, divided by identity, becoming more intolerant, xenophobic, and spiritually ill, it is essential that we remain committed to compassion. This talk will explore the role of both communal and individual trauma and healing. Learn More HERE + HERE

Nick Pretasky (WRCCS) Education Evolution through a Pandemic
The toll COVID-19 has had on our mental, psychological, emotional, and spiritual well-being has been unprecedented. We have experienced a challenging and exhausting 13 months that have sent many of us into survival mode. We have experienced plan A through Z in our schools as we longed for a return to some sense of normalcy. However, a blind return to the way education was pre-Covid would be ignoring our evolution through the challenges. I hope to take this "lunch and learn" opportunity to reflect and discuss together what we have learned as we have educated in a pandemic. Please join us as we remember and celebrate the innovative solutions and lessons learned as we evolve to our new educational normal.
(6)  Thursday May 27, 2021  Amanda Goodenough & Asha Knight

Disability Justice for K-12 Students: Where Special Education Meets Cultural Humility
We have a moral imperative to fix systems, not students. Join Amanda & Asha as they 1) raise a collective consciousness of racial biases and attitudes toward diverse learners, 2) foster an urgency for equitable school experiences and emancipatory education, and 3) call for K-12 leaders to courageously advocate for disability justice.
