PDPs and QEI

Educators who completed their educator preparation program after August 31, 2004 in a license category such as Director of Special Education or Director of Pupil Services hold Professional Educator Licenses. Based on employment requirements, these individuals must complete a PDP to renew their Professional Educator Licenses.

Quality Educator Interactive (QEI)

To facilitate this license renewal requirement, WCASS provides free access to the online tool Quality Educator Interactive (QEI) for members in good standing. As of September 1, 2012, the PI-PDP-2 (PDP Verification Signature Form) must be submitted to the DPI electronically. QEI provides the capability to comply with this requirement.

QEI allows you to create, edit and complete the review process for your Professional Development Plan online. Resources, checklists and video tutorials are also available to assist you in this process. To use QEI, visit https://myqei.org. If you have not used QEI previously, create an account by clicking on the Join tab. Choose the Educator option, then complete the application and be sure to select that you are a WCASS member.  WCASS will then be notified of your new account so we may verify your membership.

Professional Development Plans (PDPs)

The Department of Public Instruction also provides a wealth of information related to PDPs:

Educators who completed their preparation program prior to August 31, 2004 may renew their licenses by completing a PDP or earning six semester credits. WCASS members who fall into this category may use QEI or may also wish to consider earning credits through the Viterbo Graduate Credit Program.
