PREPaRE 2 | Crisis Preparedness & Response Training
Thursday, March 15, 2018 8:00 AM CDT to Friday, March 16, 2018
Category: Events

Regrettably, in today's world we don't know when--or if--crisis or mass trauma will affect the children, youth, and staff in our schools.  Schools play a critical role in meeting the needs of students, educators and administrators in such an event.  Schools need to be ready for that eventuality as they continue to work to prevent such an occurrence.

On March 15-16, 2018, the American Council for School Social Work (ACSSW) is offering PREPaRE 2 Two-Day trauma response training in Greendale, WI, a suburb of Milwaukee.  PREPaRE 2 is the only SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) vetted trauma response program designed for schools and communities committed to improving and strengthening school safety, crisis management, and emergency response. It is designed to prepare and support school administrators, school mental health professionals, designated school personnel, and community mental health providers to respond quickly and effectively in the event of school crises.  PREPaRE 1 offers training in planning for this type of event.   PREPaRE 2 trains one in response and implementation.  However, you need not have taken PREPaRE 1 prior to participate in PREPaRE 2 as they are distinct trainings.
